Who is Jesus?

Hebrews 1:8 “But of the Son He says, ‘Your Throne O God is forever and ever and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His Kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God Your God has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions'”.

There is no other man that has ever lived on this earth that has more profoundly affected the planet and its inhabitants as the man Christ Jesus. The apostle John in finishing his gospel of Jesus wrote And there were also many other things which Jesus did which if they were written in detail I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.(John 21:25) This certainly has been and continues to be the case. This is the central question “Who is Jesus” and it can only be answered by you the one that will have to answer for the bible tells us that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father.

The traditional answer to this question is that Jesus is God and is the second member of what is known by evangelical Christians as the God head Father Son and Holy Spirit. We here at Christian Fellowship of El Cajon do also hold to this and believe that Jesus Christ is the creator of all that we see and don’t see. He was with the Father when all was created and everything that is was created by Him through Him and for Him. (John 1:4) Most people that have received Jesus as Savoir only know Him as the sacrifice for their sin and a mediator between God and man. This incomplete knowledge of Him leaves them defeated by the desires of the flesh or human condition that Jesus came to set those that believe in Him free from and show them the way through the flesh and into the priest hood that He has called us to be in. In Revelation 1:8 we see that Jesus says of himself “I am the Alpha and the Omega say’s the Lord who is and who was and who is to come the Almighty.” We have briefly spoken of who He was as creator and certainly most have heard much of this reality and we in no way place one truth of Him above the others. We also never deny His deity especially when looking at the greatest gift He ever gave to all of mankind. This greatest gift is the sacrifice that He made by leaving His place as creator and taking upon flesh or the human condition and showing those He has called how to be the new creations He calls them to be. He became flesh as a man but born of the Spirit and this truth is hardly known among Christian as they portrait Jesus as God walking the earth instead of the son of man completely dependent on the Father and the Holy Spirit. We never in any way deny His divinity as previously stated we only recognize the tremendous sacrifice He made in leaving the Father to come and show us the way of humility. Without this understanding people are left with an impossible task to become like Him or to be like Him in this world. (1 John 4:17) In the book of Philippians we see that in order to bring many sons into glory he had a mission to accomplish which is a mystery that has now been revealed. In Philippians 2:5-8 we are told to have this same mind in us that empties itself of any of its own abilities puts aside any of your own desires and become a bond-servant. While in this place of humility you now as He did go down even further to become obedient to the point of death or separation between soul and spirit even down further to the point of losing the last power in the human nature the preservation of ones own life or death on the cross. It was for the joy that was set before Him that He despised the shame and endured the suffering. What was this? You were the joy that was set before Him by the Father that you would become a fellow heir to His glory. But in order for you to become that priest you to must endure the shame and suffer the death even the loss of your- self preservation. It is in the days of His flesh that we are very interested in now for we are in this flesh and as spirit beings born from above we want to overcome as He overcame and sit down with Him in Glory. (Rev. 3:21) The bible says he took on a likeness of sinful flesh as He never lived according to its demands and desires but rather as a Spirit born of the Holy Spirit he walked His entire 33 years in that Spirit and never gave into the desires of the flesh that would have produced death and given the devil a foothold and a claim on His soul. But rather He cried out to the Father and learned through being obedient what perfection in the flesh as a Divine Being was and became the author of eternal salvation to all who will now obey Him. (Heb. 5:7-10) Some hear this and say that if this were true He would have had to take that human nature with Him to heaven and the possibility of Him still being subject to it would exist. This is not the case as that nature was crucified and burned up in the glorification or baptism of fire that He went through as God the Father raised Him up from the dead and placed Him in the position that is above every name that can be named that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the Glory of the Father. This is who He is now our great High Priest in the order of Melchizedek ever making intercession for you the seeking spirit that desires to know the truth. Now we look at Him as our savior and the fact that He would leave His place on High to come and show me the lost sinner the way through the flesh the way to overcome this nature that has held me captive this has developed such a love for Him in me that I want to be with Him every moment of every day. I now know that He suffered every temptation that I fall to yet He never did! Since He did experience all this yet without sin He is able now to come to the aide of those that call out to Him with cry’s and tears so that He might save us from death and lead us into His ever- lasting glory. (Heb. 2:14-18) Do you know Jesus in this way?

Many also have heard much about who He is to come our King and conquering Lord. That He will ride down from Heaven on a white horse with multitudes of Angels and all those that have washed their garments in His blood to set up His thousand year reign upon the earth and of His government there will never be an end. We believe this as well and look anxiously for that great day. But do you know Him as your bridegroom that waits for His bride to come to the marriage super of the Lamb? (Rev. 19:7-8) He is our espoused husband that is cleansing us and helping us to put on our wedding garments and we are His wise virgins that have come to understand where it is that oil for our vessels is purchased. (1peter 4:1-2) The knowledge of this is not widely understood. In fact most think that as long as He has given them forgiveness of sins that they will in an instant be cleansed and given these wedding garments to wear however we should now see that this is not the case. In reality those will be the foolish virgins that come out in the night as their lamps lose their light they cry out for oil but have none in their vessel. (Mat. 25:1-13) It is our hope here at Christian Fellowship of El Cajon to wake many up to the call to come out from among those that are living in deception and understand who Jesus truly is and who He is calling you to be. (Ret.18:4-8) To come to the knowledge of Christ is the calling we have been challenged with and we are dedicated to help all those that have ears to hear and eyes to see to come to the light. Who is Jesus? He is the express image of the Father and is calling us to now come to the same confession. If you have seen me you have seen the Father. Jesus said in the last chapter of Revelation verse 12-17 “Behold I am coming quickly and My reward is with me to render to every man according to what he has done. I AM the Alpha and the Omega the first and the last the beginning and the end.” Blessed are those who wash their robes so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murders and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices lying. “I Jesus have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the Churches I am the root and the descendant of David the bright morning star.” The Spirit and the bride say “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come: let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

To understand more of our great God and Savor Jesus Christ get involved in the Church His body. Pray and ask Jesus what it is that you can do for Him as you sit at His feet and worship the one who gave Himself for you. We here at Christian Fellowship hope that you would become a member of our congregation and for more information on Church and its services use the contact page or talk to one of the members that attend.
